Reading
My great-grandfather was a best-selling novelist and editor-in-chief for Burma's biggest newspaper. He passed away before I was born but I was introduced to his work by my parents at a very young age. I have been an avid reader ever since. Here are some of my favorite books I have ever read. The book on the top-left was my favorite from my great-grandfather called "My Husband". The story took place in an alternate reality where guys are demure, soft-spoken, shy, and oppressed whereas girls were seen as brave, strong, and protective in society. Although the story seemed like a lighthearted comedy when I first read it, I realized that he was provoking social and cultural gender norms. At the same time, he was portraying men in an effeminate manner which was deemed controversial in the 60s in Burma, to say the least. Here are some of my favorite books.

Fostering Kittens
Back in August 2022, I saw an Instagram post from Feline Friends Chicago saying fosters are needed or the poor kittens were at risk of being euthanized. A few days later, I got a little feline friend called Moon running all around my room. Moon is a social butterfly. I called him a puppy trapped in a kitty's body. Payton was shy, reserved yet affectionate. We had a rough start, but Payton became a cuddly baby after two months. Matilda is the black cat with the purest soul who can stare outside for hours. REO is a gentle mellow boy with a happy, laid-back personality. One after another, all four of them found forever homes after each spending a couple of weeks with me.
I'm now excitedly awaiting my next foster furry companion.
